Senate Bill 291, which went into effect 1.1.22 created an “advanced esthetic” license. The scope of practice for an advanced esthetician includes non-ablative esthetic medical procedures.
Non-ablative esthetic medical procedures are services that are not expected to excise, vaporize, disintegrate or remove living tissue. All non-ablative procedures require the supervision of a healthcare professional (Physician, Physician’s Assistant or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse).
